December 8-16 Thursday 4th grade KhanhVy Nguyen

Welcome in class As usual we walk into class and get right to reading, that also means my reading time. The timer ended and the people right next to me were talking to each other, a student read the objective and today we are gonna be doing a story but not just a story it will be on IBooks and we're gonna be famous! Well kind of. A kind student was ought to write the story for Mrs. Carmean and she forgets a lot but kindly the student wrote it for her. Mrs. Carmean is setting up the camera for the story we are going to be acting out and hopefully I get to be a actor but I know I can't because I have to write. Mrs. Carmean told the class "the students I need go sit on the floor" so the actors went. Mrs. Carmean was reading the story the student wrote and they were gonna plan it out. And after these people were being troublemakers she said she want them to be respectful or when this get post on YouTube. Everyone was talking about what they want for Christmas then she started recording and then Nixon broke the tennis racket now she has to restart I feel bad for her but she found a new tennis racket well not really a tennis racket and now we are starting the story. "The boy and girl practice day and night. Then a boy was playing soccer and he was sad because he had no one to play with so he went to the jungle and a gorilla came to him and Gio asked "Will you play with me?" So the gorilla tried to kick the ball but he was a bad kicker, then Gio went to Paris to play but a women came up to him and Gio asked "Will you play with me?" And the women said "no!" And she walked away. That when Gio went to the park and he saw Nixon and Hannah playing tennis so Gio asked "Will you play with me?" And they said "NO!" And Gio hit Nixon so then Gio turned to Hannah and did Rasberrys and she was mad so she walked away so at the End Gio went to the Mexico football team and Gio asked " Will you play with me?" And one of the football player said "yes" THE END!!!!! Time for Socrative! It so fun! I guess it time for me to play.

4th grade: 
We walked inside the classroom and started reading, so that means time for my reading time I'll write some more after. The timer ringed and we stopped reading so we put away the iPads we also saw that Mrs. Carmean decorated the board with
Christmas lights it was beautiful. Mariah was sure sharpening a lot of pencils. And finally they made the announcement it was a INSIDE DAY. We did dojo points, after we were done we went right to work and everyone was in their coats because the teacher said it might be a outside day but now we know so everyone was sweating some took off their coats love like Gage and T.J, Louie just readied the "I will show I under stand" and he didn't even need the teacher to say the Spanish words so he got a dojo point. We were doing the signs of the Spanish words then one part no one knew one of the word but a girl she knew it so she got a dojo point too, we are learning a new sign it's like your finger is curved like a question mark then point it to someone and that means you are asking someone a question. It was fun she also said we might be doing some question for other people. Mrs. Carmean was asking what our mini story was about and then someone came to the door to tell her something. We are doing a mini story again. She is thinking about things like stuff I can't read her mind it not like I'm magical!  This is our first day of Spanish class, Mrs. Carmean said she might not need pictures or things for the scene but The boy and the girl was so funny they went boom boom boom and the boy found out he broke he tennis stick but I was already broken, now Gio was playing scorcher alone and so he was sad, he was all by himself then he want someone to play with a friend after that he went to the forest, a gorilla came to him and said "NO FOOTBALL" he tried to kick the ball so it would get out but he did a bad kick and so the gorilla fell to the ground. Gio then went to Paris and played soccer but then a Paris women came up to him and said no football and she walked away. Mrs. Carmean told us to predict what they think what going to happen next but then after we were done talking some people talk about their weekend or something, then Mrs. Carmean told us to share our ideas. Now we are sharing it to the whole class some people wanted to share too so they raised their hands the people upstage they were messing around the with the ball and kicking it into chairs the board and more things. Finally we are starting our story again. Everyone was yelling messy messy messy! Or either they we were yelling something else, it not like you could against messy or messi. When you talk you don't know. Back to the story. Gio came to the park and asked them will you play with me? And they both said no and Gio kicked Nixon and then Gio raspberry Hannah so she was being rude and walked away. Then he met the scoccer team and he played in the scoccer stadium. So Gio asked will you play with me and he said yes THE END!!!!!

Hi Spanish class it is snowing oh my gosh😬😁. Now we are going to read the abjection. Our hole is to be caring😜. We are going to read Brandon wants a puppy🐶. Wi think we are done with the book yes we are.

Learn the regions and what they produce, like do they produce a lot or a little. We are also learning were the country is. Maestra is asking  us question like "what does Brazil produce?" Everyone is shouting out words!!
Some been laughing while maestra did this. So now today the whole class is doing Nearpod!  So then after we are done with doing the Nearpod so after that we are gonna draw rose campus or just campus. And we are watching a video of states.

We came into Spanish. We learned about las posadas. For nine nights the 16-24 of December lots of people go to other houses. Últįma is last. They repeat the process until the last house.

We walked into class and did IBooks and also there was talking again. I'll be right back when I'm done reading. Now we asking how are you? More like maestra is asking us that. And now we are doing Dojo points for whoever is here, we are doing the signs of words we are also seeing what that country produce. And almost lost a point but whew we didn't! Everyone is learning the compass of Norte and sur and este and oeste which means North and south and
east and west! We earned a point YAY!! Everyone is going on a app to do something.

5th grade
First we came into the classroom and did attendees👧🏻👦🏻👩🏻👦🏾. Then we where doing our last word we learned which was year and then you asked in Spanish how old are tam,Brooklyn,Alia ☝🏼✌🏼👌🏼🖐🏼. Then we had to with a partner finger out what was on the board by the picture👫. Then we watched a short video when the person said I have or hair or eyes then we have to make the sign✊🏽🖖🏽. Then we had to read the paragraph and pick ABC or D who Mach it👥. Then we had to get with a partner and tell them  our hair and eye color❤️💙💚💇🏽 Then we watched another video then lined up and got our head phones🎮.

The past week in Spanish has been full of IB units around Regions (está en, se produce, dónde está) and Frida Kahlo (important people from the past and their influence - era, accidente, dibujaba, pintaba, artista, MURALS).  Preparations for reading our novel (Isabela) are on their way (quiere ser famosa, viaja mucho, tiene pelo rubio y ojos azules).  K-2 are working on classrooms commands, emotions, and advocacy.

We came into class. And we were given an activity. Nos we hace to go to the carpet in front of the pro board. Then we looked at day of the dead. We are working on our words. We are working on the signs for the words. We have to say the names of colors. Now we have to put our heads down because people were talking and they were also messing around. Then we went back to working on the word hair. Someone got a refocus. And then someone lost their IPAD privileges. People are going to give us homework because they were talking and shouting out. And now I think we have homework. And the teacher will give us a bad grade.

October 25 2016 Tuesday

Oh hi Spanish class I am so happy😜. Oh no I am reading a book with my friend and it is about spiders.😱. Now we are doing a activity with Spanish.😋😋😝. We where all so saying how are you doing and I said I am bien and cans ado.😴😎. We are doing a good job that is the teacher said😝😜.  We are doing something about this girl ñames fredu  Kahlo show as a artistas she lived in México she lived in a blue house that is all we can do for today. That is all we hace for today.

We came into class with our homework. Then we learned a new word.(travels a lot was the word 🚙.)  Then we said were we wanted to go in to the world. Then we had to awncer something in Socrative.  Then we had to put our iPads back because we were to loud. When we got done we had to read a book… Now we are putting our books away. Now we are looking at people's awncers. (The teacher was happy.) now we are learning new words.

I will show I understand esta en, se produce, and dinde esta by answering question and labeling. Today we are reading on iBook, now we are done reading!  Now we are learning the contents of the world! Everyone is answering the question like if Brazil speak Español? Now we are labeling the capital and the state name! This will be fun!!!!!!! And when we are done we get to color the map.

Today we walked into Spanish today and now we are reading iBooks, I'll write  after I am done reading on iBooks. Reading time is over!!!!  We are giving out point for class dojo. Now we are learning Regions. Now we are watching a video after we just lost a point. The class is figuring out what happen when chirstopor landed in Caribe!

Oh hi class.😎 No I do not have a iPad No!!!😩 Every one has a iPad but only 4 other people do not have a iPad. It is very quick so shhhh!😤 Only wish per  it is very quick. Now we are reading the ejected. Ha now we got two points.😜 we are doing a good job in Spanish class. I think we are all most done with Spanish hope not.😱. Now we are trying to see what the teacher is saying.😎 now have free time.  We learned the word hay that means there is or there are!

you?" and after that Maestra said everyone must go back to their seat in Spanish
everyone went running crazy!!!😜 We are giving out points. Now we are reading
the intelligence and figuring out what they mean. We are also doing Socrative. Now we are done we are getting to together in groups of four and telling which one is

what rules are next. And Maestra is giving dojo class points! Nobody is missing 

from class and everyone here! Yay we have a survey on Socrative. Time for the 

survey! 

Now we are starting Spanish. We are are sitting in our chairs. Now we are talking how to use the iPad about how now we are where we sit. Now are learning about books and iPads and  now we are doing two activates. Now we are going on iBook now we need to read shhhhh!!!!!!! Now we are done. Now we are going on Socrative. Ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We walked in the class and the gabby said the expectations and then we did class dojo            And then we did we created three new monsters😀😄😊.we had to read the rubric we are going to be writing a test in all Spanish in 20 minutes😬we did a test on Justin bieber😍so fun. The emoji of the day how my class is acting is😉don't you think it's a very good class but sometimes we can be really bad. Were just so times a little😲👎🏻off task but today was a good day....................in Spanish class but other then that mr market was🗣💯percent he never yelled that loud😜 but let's focus on the good part of the day!

First we walked in and we sat down and read the expectations and then we did class dojo everyone got a point.we all are going to do a learner sheet and there's eight parts to the essment.we had to make sure we have are first and last name on our paper or else bad grade😐.now we all just earned another class dojo point we are on a roll.we al are having a great day in Spanish class🤓 the test was fun we got to draw

Tuesday September 13

First got into the classroom and we were to loud so we had to go outside and practice coming in. we got into You need to get a paper and fold it tell it into 8 rectangles right your name in the first rectangle. Than you are ready to start your test. Than you have to draw what miss Carmen is saying. And try not to write any words. When your done you have to leave your stuff where is. Than go to the carpet. Ave and Sean got points because Ave was open minded and Sean was being caring. At the end we have to get called to line up.

I will show that I understand classroom expectations and basic Spanish by working with group ,listening ,drawing,and writing .today we all were sitting down but then we had to go back out a try it again we really messed up that time.mis Carmen said that she was going to show us a image .and we have to write about it in Spanish .she said if we're panacking it's okay.and if we right in English the story but we get a 0 and if we right a couple of words we will get a 2 or a 3 but if we know Spanish a lot then we will get a 5 but if we get a lot of details that will get us more interesting that to read.and if we're past that point she will grade us with high school grader.oh and we get to use our recourses.the pictures   That we have.she will give us examples like sad happy she said that we  some body already wrote in a picture and if she calls our name we have to get a boarded and we head to move to a he floor.and jovan is going nag to pass the paper sorry have to do my job see ya in a little bit.im the first one that is done ya man.

What we are going to do today is drawing now we are going to get points for being at Spanish now someone is reading what we are going to do today. Oh we are going to right a story in Spanish. We are going to say how we feel like happy,sad,mad, tired,bad. Now we are going to play a game in Spanish of sponge bob. We are asking questions and we are going to get a pencil and white board. Oh no this is a test we are going to start in a minute and we only have 20 minutes we can not go to the  bathroom and we are starting right now see you later. Hi again we are done right now that was so hard we are cleaning right now and going over to go over what the teacher would pot by we are leaving right now see you later.

 I will show I understand classroom expectations and basic Spanish by working with a group ,listening,drawing,and writing.   mis Carmean said to keep your mind moving why is it important to be bilingual.  She is happy she is showing us bilingual words in Spanish and English . Mis Carmean said if you were going to travel a lot of the people speak Spanish.  Mis Carmean said if you speak two languages you will get more money and if someone speaks two languages and there is another person speaks only English they might not get the job.   zephenia said that his  nana speaks a little bit of Indian.

Beginning of year jobs are assigned and assessments for 2nd-5th are underway!

4th: Today we are listening and drawing today.  Maestra gonna give us a paper and tell us a story and then we are gonna draw it. We are starting right now. It is the end of the test and we are telling each other our stories.  We are getting our grades. And Maestra was mad and so she took away one point.

5th:  We get to class we had a fire drill after we went to our seats. After we got back to the classroom and it was so loud that we had To go out side and sit out front to escape the noise from the fire alarm. And the fire department came and we worked on our assessment. And we wrote our names on the paper and went back inside and we are to go to our seats. We finished our video we are at the climax of the video. We are finished with the video. And looked at her blog to see If the stuff I write.

3rd:

Ya Angelo is here.He was at trip Mexico.We are going to see where Angelo is going to sit. And now we are going to draw a story. We is it oh no we are getting started and we are getting a paper and pencil we have to fold the paper in eight's. We are do folding the paper. Ho no it is a test again oh no see you later bye guys. We are all most done see you later. Yay we are done I am glad. We only have one points.We are and we are answering questions for points ya I got a point.

The first week of Spanish class here at Sabin has been fun and successful!  Meeting new classmates, playing matamoscas, and practicing doing our "STOP" sign are great ways to start off the year.  New technology policies are in place, so students will be extra careful with tech this year which is super so that we can do even more personalized learning through different mediums.

Seeing about 650 students in one week is tough work but their smiling faces make every minute worth it :)

Alright everybody.... brainstorming has turned into action for the 2016-2017 school year!  I am so excited for this year and look forward to some changes that I have in store for everybody - students, parents, colleagues, friends, and whoever else wants to see what cool things are happening in the Spanish World Language classroom this year at Sabin World Elementary School.

My hopes for this blog is that it will be quick and easy to share what is happening in the Spanish classroom much more frequently.  The goals for this are to allow students and parents to connect and be able to talk about what is happening in the classroom as well as give the students a chance to "re-live" the classroom experience of the day.  This reflection will give time to students to process what they have been exposed to and will keep the class moving at a good pace while having all of the previous instruction accessible.

Students will play a HUGE part in this process and will be creating blogs, taking pictures, and sharing thoughts, connections, and reflections.  I will comment and post and this will become a living classroom all of it's own.  - More info to come!!
